CINSEAD programmes curated screenings of internationally acclaimed titles, each followed by a panel discussion featuring nationals from the film's country of origin and invited industry guest speakers. The aim of our organisation is to foster cross-cultural learning and discovery through cinema, while opening up audiences to international films they might not otherwise encounter. CINSEAD operates in programming partnership with CinéParadis, the regional cinema operator in Île-de-France, with screenings held at the Ermitage cinema in Fontainebleau.

§ 03 — Method
How we programme.
Selection Criteria
We select films that are widely loved, critically respected, and culturally revealing.
Every title is chosen against four criteria. Films are selected in consultation with prospective panellists to ground each discussion in lived experience.
I.
Accessibility
Likeable and entertaining to a general audience. No 'arthouse' cinema, or anything that is too impenetrable
II.
Cultural insight
A genuine window into the film's country of origin — its concerns, textures, and people
III.
Discussion value
Material that rewards conversation afterwards — ambiguity, tension, and ideas worth unpacking.
IV.
Tonal balance
Avoid works that are too heavy or disturbing, to the extent that they would cut off productive conversation and discussion.
